Baking Made Easy: Pick A Bagel Date: Sunday, 16th Oct Time: 14:30- 17:00 Cost: 350RMB, 300RMB for members The bagel, one of the most popular types of bread, has its origins in the Jewish community of Poland. The bagel is traditionally hand-shaped like a ring from wheat dough with yeast. It is first boiled and then baked. When it comes out of the oven it is soft and chewy inside but crisp on the outside. The earliest recorded boiled-then-baked ring-shaped bread was found in Arabic cooking in the 13th century. Later bagels became widely associated with the Jewish community in Poland from the 17th century. Today, bagels are so ubiquitous that they are found in almost every coffee shop and brunch spot. Savoury or sweet, they are loved by all and enjoyed with just about any type of food. Come and join us to learn some techniques and secrets for making your favourite bagels and inspired toppings. In this class, we will make two types of bagels.
