Just what was it exactly that powered the Mongolian Empire to expand all the way from the Eastern borders of Asia to the Western border of Hungary? Some attribute the strength of Genghis Khan to his mighty horde and their superb horseback archery skills. Others give credit to the tactics of ruling by a combination of fear and meritocracy. We at The Hutong believe true Mongolian power originates from a nice, juicy, stick of lamb meat roasted slowly on a summer’s eve.

Join us for an evening of Mongolian barbecue, film, and art as we prepare for the launch of our first-ever trip to Inner Mongolia for the July journey to the Vanishing Steppe! Mongolian history enthusiast and longtime traveler to Inner Mongolia Jeffrey Schwab will be hosting the event to provide information about the forthcoming trip to the grasslands. In addition, there will be a special question and answer session with Genghis Khan himself!
