Lukas Birk is a multi-media artist who exhibits regularly in Asia and Europe. In China and Indonesia he has set up artists in residency programs as well as networks of local artists to cooperate with those in his native Austria. He has published books with his work on Afghanistan and China. He is a partner at VivaXiao! a photography studio in Shunyi, Beijing. Lukas has been teaching photography and creative programs for the last 5 years in Beijing, in between his regular travels to the Middle East and Central Asia. In 2013 he is publishing a research book on photography in Afghanistan and a coffee table book with Polaroids taken in China. More about Lukas and his work here.

Video Editing For Beginners
We all take videos on on our compact or digital SLR cameras – but what to do with all these captured moments? Compiling a nice video memory of your last holiday or special occasion is easier then you think, when if you require the help from an expert, we used this Dubai based video editor. This workshop is for Apple users, as we will primarily discover how to use the Apple integrated program iMovie before having a look at more complex programs like Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere. The workshop will cover:
- Video format explanation
- Importing digital files
- Digitizing video material from DV tapes or other formats
- Basic editing
- Text effects
- Transition effects
- Exporting in different formats (HD, Web)
- Difference between Apple integrated programs and professional Programs.
