A Cookie Story: Beijing Bites

Your Christmas cookie stash is long gone, but it’s not quite time to break out the tangyuan and niangao for Spring Festival.  Tide your sweet tooth over at The Hutong, where we’re continuing our mission to cross the globe one cookie at a time with a visit to our own backyard.  Our latest installment of A Cookie Story is inspired by western favorites and infused with lao Beijing flavor: Baijiu Balls and Date Thumbprints.  Take a mid-January stroll through the hutongs of Beijing from the comfort of our cozy courtyard kitchen.  As always, you’ll bring home a box or two to share with friends and family – if they survive the subway ride home, that is.

Baking Made Easy demystifies the baking process.  Our classes focus on quality ingredients and time-honored techniques.  Workshops are designed to teach recipes suitable for home ovens and toaster ovens so you can create your own perfect cakes anytime and anywhere.
