In conjunction with Jamie Oliver’s May 19th Food Revolution Day, The Hutong is ringing in the Spring with an organic food fair! This event will connect farmers and producers from the budding organic movement with the local Beijing community.
The Hutong will offer talks on composting, urban farming, and growing organically in China, an “Organic Beijing” information packet, cooking demonstrations from Hutong chef Sue Zhou and an organic roof-top fair. Guests will have the opportunity to speak with farmers directly and understand the entire “field to fork (or chopstick)” process while tasting locally produced jams, honey, bagels, milk and cheese.
