As one of the few people at The Hutong who understands basic concepts of Information Technology and given the flexible nature of her work, Ivy Chang is able to work remotely, from San Francisco, California, where she just moved this past winter. Ivy’s responsibilities at The Hutong include, but are not limited to: a quarterly systems improvement plan, daily systems maintenance, and solving periodic IT emergencies from staff members.

Ivy has been in San Francisco for five weeks, and so far she is loving it. She is studying Integral Counseling Psychology at The California Institute of Integral Studies, located in downtown San Fran. Very different from her left-brain based engineering background, courses there focus more on personal feelings, interpersonal communications, and all the skills that are required to be a potential therapist.

Ivy loves challenges. Exploring a new city, especially one as exciting as San Francisco, is definitely something that can fulfill her daredevil heart. She is now looking forward to experiencing what comes next along this special, beautiful journey.
