About the Elizabeth

Elisabeth Beltran is from Germany and has lived in China since 2003. Her husband Fabian enjoys food and is her greatest fan and critic. Growing up in a family where there would always be homemade cake she learned the art of baking from her mother. Elisabeth enjoys inviting friends to their home for meals. She tries cooking different foods from around the globe and enjoys surprising her husband with newly learned Colombian baked goods.

After missing good bread from home, she started baking her own bread. Experimenting while cooking and baking have helped her to create interesting and delicious recipes. For several years now, she has been baking Stollen for her own family and friends here in Beijing.

Even though it is not easy to bake authentic German recipes in China, since buying the ingredients is often challenging, her Stollen is almost as good as the ones you can buy at a Christmas Market in Germany.

For Vegans, she has developed an alternative recipe.
