Join The Hutong for a new series of painting workshops. Next Monday’s Life Drawing is getting even more offbeat as Body Artist and Painter, Nina Griffee, instructs you about how to paint on a “live” canvas! For families, Nina and her crew are offering a 2-hr workshop as an introduction to painting for parents and children.
Illusion Painting – Painting Clothes onto People!
This workshop is for creative people and for artists interested in experimenting with a new medium.
We will be using the human body as a canvas to understand fabric texture and how clothing looks. We will paint (bikini wearing) models in various garments, and consider how to make them look realistic. The session will be lead by Body Painter Nina Griffee, who will take the group step-by-step through the process. The group will be taught the ins and outs of body painting, and the best way to achieve interesting outcomes, using the correct materials.
Date: Monday, March 25th at 7:30pm
Cost: 100 RMB
Parent-Child Canvas Painting Workshop
This workshop brings parents and children together to create works of art in a relaxed creative setting. The instructor will guide pairs through painting their canvas. Using mixed media, the pairs will be encouraged to exercise their creative talents and work towards their final image.
All materials are provided and each pair gets to take home their finished piece of artwork.
Date: Saturday, April 6 from 10am-Noon
Cost: 200 RMB for each child/parent pair

Expressive Drawing and Painting workshop – Instructor Jesse Bradley
This workshop brings parents and children together to create works of art together, in a relaxed creative setting. The Instructor will guide the pairs through painting, to achieve the final piece. Using mixed media, the pairs will be encouraged to exercise their creativity, and then work towards the final image. Suitable for adults and children.
Fake Wounds workshop – Instructor Linda Miao
Learn how to make fake wounds and blood! Cuts, burns scratches and bullet holes! Linda Miao, professional Body artist will give a step-by-step instruction on how to create gruesome gore! Suitable for adults and children.

The mystery of India…this workshop will introduce you to the basics of henna art application, and provides information on henna hair dye. Instructor Olya Shegai will explain the properties of henna and how to achieve beautiful designs.
