- Metronome – not necessary but highly recommended.
- Memory Stick or Portable hard drive – students will get a copy of the music used in each workshop as well as example recordings.

Robin Liu is a Taiwanese who immigrated to New Zealand and came to Beijing 2 years ago to continue his pursuit of music. While in Auckland, he taught guitar and band mentoring in School of Rock while touring up and down the country with his original band IFK. After IFK disbanded he busked on the Queen street for 8 months, paying for his flight ticket to Beijing.
During his stay in China, he has toured with different bands, traveling from Inner Mongolia to southern China. Featured in the Chinese version of X factor, and in the movie “Flowers of War,” Robin is now the guitarist of three bands. The Big John Blues band plays the blues, Original band 16 mins plays Alt Rock and Elephant Fresh plays Hiphop/funk. Robin also teaches at The Western Academy of Beijing. His eastern and western upbringing and music/industry experience have helped him to develop an effective way of teaching.
Some of Robin’s personal achievements include:

- NZ battle of the bands Auckland final
- Best guitarist in the Yamaha Asian Beat China national final.
- East China Final 2nd place
- Beta three battle of bands 2nd place China final;
- Numerous release including DVD. His band 16mins first ep XXRR is underway.
