Fishbowl Events was formed by Allison Johnson and Ola Zdzarska with the common vision of creating social opportunities for people from different backgrounds to mix and mingle. They exist to help build and fortify your social networks. The majority of their clientele lives in Beijing, but are transplants from other cities, creating a unique mix of foreign expats and local Chinese.
Fishbowl events began their experience in 2007 when they formed “The Speedating Specialists”. The success of these events encouraged them to design new and more interesting occasions to socialize. The increasing demand for a new social mecca among Beijing’s young professional community has brought them together once again to collaborate and create events where you can enjoy the fabulous nightlife that Beijing has to offer.

Hook N Cook is yet another way to broaden your social network in Beijing. Except at Hook N Cook you can show off your culinary skills while you meet like-minded individuals in the creative kitchen of The Hutong.
Every participant is given a role in preparing a truly signature dinner. Never fear if you have little to no training in the kitchen. Fishbowl Events hosts will have recipes and ingredients prepared upon your arrival. All you have to do is choose a recipe and a partner and try your best. Fishbowl hosts will be guiding you through the process as necessary.
